Long-Legged Metallic Fly

Long-Legged metallic fly resting on a piece of cedar in my garden. Quite a jumpy little bug, I'd compose a shot, and before I could hit the shutter he'd moved somewhere else!

Probably Dolichopodia, aka log-legged garden fly. usually beneficial, predaceous, very nervous habits, seldom still. How you ever got a picture is beyond me. Share it with other bug sites!
